New 2021 Release Date for Ingrande Mora’s LGBTQ YA Dark Fantasy Debut

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

St. PAUL, MN, March 27, 2020 – Flux, an imprint of North Star Editions, Inc. (NSE) announced today that the June publication date of Fragile Remedy by Maria Ingrande Mora has been moved to March 9, 2021. This change allows time for promotional events to be rescheduled and independent bookstores to reopen to support a successful launch for this title. Fragile Remedy is a young adult dark fantasy novel centered around Nate, a genetically engineered medical surrogate, who must choose between giving up his freedom to survive, or dying with the boy he loves.

More about Fragile Remedy:

He was made to die. Now he has a reason to live.

Sixteen-year-old Nate is a GEM—a genetically engineered medical surrogate—created by the scientists of Gathos City as a cure for the elite from the fatal lung rot ravaging the population. As a child, he was smuggled out of the laboratory and into the Withers—a quarantined, lawless region. Nate manages to survive by fixing broken tech in exchange for food or a safe place to sleep. When he meets Reed, a kind and fiercely protective boy that makes his heart race, and his misfit gang of scavengers, Nate finds the family he’s always longed for—even if he can’t risk telling them what he is.

But Gathos created a genetic failsafe in their GEMs—a flaw in their DNA that causes their health to rapidly deteriorate as they age unless they are regularly dosed with medication. As Nate’s health declines, his hard-won freedom is put in jeopardy and he will be forced to choose between his own life or the life of the boy he loves?
